Belmont Park Theme Park Passes

Location: Belmont Park, 3190 Mission Blvd., San Diego, CA 92109. Cost: Approx.

Do you need to find something to do when visiting San Diego? We can offer the solutions to your search for fun with a day of entertainment at Belmont Park. When visiting San Diego, one of the neatest places to check out is a theme park on a beach. Belmont Park and the historic Plunge Pool were built nearly a decade ago to entertain families in a beach setting. Thrill rides such as a roller coaster, and a kids zone with tamer rides for tots make this an enjoyable theme park for all ages. Overlooking the famed Mission Beach, there are a couple hotels that you can book a room in and walk over to Belmont Park just over a mile distance and close by is the fabulous Bahia. Because Belmont Park is so affordable, it is often offered as an optional add-on attraction to other hotel and theme park packages that include Sea World and San Diego Zoo.

At this classic amusement park in the style of the old-fashioned Coney Island, the best ride is the The Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, one of only two original oceanfront roller coasters still operating on the west coast. Built in 1925 and recently restored, there’s something so primal about riding a roller coaster overlooking the ocean. It combines excitement with setting to make for good times. Old-fashioned by nature, another offering that’s much newer is Beach Blaster, which swings passengers 60 feet in the air to 120 degrees in both directions.

One hotel right on the boardwalk is the Blue Sea Lodge, a Best Western Hotel on the ocean’s edge. Moderately priced, it offers view rooms beyond compare. Down the boardwalk a short distance is another beach front hotel, Diamond Head Inn. For beach vacations it is another affordable option, especially during the winter months. And finally across the street on the bay side of the road is Catamaran Resort. Because of its bay location, it has sailboats for rent, a bay jog path, view rooms, and even a boat that comes up the bay for night time entertainment offered to hotel guests who stay at the Catarmaran.

Belmont Park itself is framed by a grassy lawn and features America’s favorite theme park rides, Tilta Whirl and Giant Dipper Roller Coaster. Among the rides are:

* Giant Dipper Roller Coaster
* Beach Blaster
* The Chaos
* Speedway Bumper Cars
* TILT-A-WHIRL
* The Liberty Carousel
* Vertical Plunge
* Krazy Kars
* Crazy Submarine
* Thunder Boats

There’s a lot to see and do at Belmont Park, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy this old-fashioned outdoor entertainment attraction, and San Diego’s only beachfront amusement park. Belmont Park has some pretty cool stuff such as simulated waves, an arcade and a gaming room with more modern games.

When you get hungry, prepare to munch on American favorites such as corn dogs, pizza, ice cream and churros, or buy a nice meal at one of the restaurants such as Canes. Oceanfront dining and rooftop dining overlooking Mission Beach provide plenty of inspiraton for San Diego vacations.

WaveHouse is Belmont Park’s premiere surf experience featuring two simulated surfing waves, great beach style BBQ and a spectacular view of the Beach.

Shopping at Belmont Park is a tourists haven of souvenirs. Postcards, shot glasses, and contemporary Roxy, Quicksilver, Volcom and fashionable clothing make for great shopping.

The PLUNGE is San Diego’s largest indoor heated swimming pool built in 1925. The public can dive in for a refreshing dip and swim in one of the best exercise regimens possible.
